The Role:
Reporting to the President and serving as an integral member of the executive leadership team, the Vice President of Finance and Administration (VP) will be responsible for the development of AE Business Solutions' (AE) financial management strategy and will contribute to the development of the company's strategic goals. In addition to strategic components, the VP will be charged with developing and implementing more sophisticated policies and procedures in the areas of finance, risk management and general operations. The VP will also oversee AE's team of Account Coordinators. This team provides quotes and purchase orders for all of AE's client facing quotes and purchase orders. The VP will also oversee AE's human resources strategy, including policies and procedures to ensure an effective hiring and onboarding process, and ongoing feedback, training, and development of employees. Finally, the VP will oversee AE's internal IT priorities, ensuring IT strategies and processes support company-wide goals.
General Responsibilities:
Advise the President and other members of the executive leadership team on financial planning and analysis, budgeting, cash flow, cost structure, investment priorities, and policy matters.
Effectively communicate and present critical financial matters to executive leadership and owners
Contribute to the development of AE's strategic goals and objectives as well as the overall management of the company
Ensure that AE is adhering to the strategic plan, delivering timely and accurate status reports to owners and executive leadership
Oversee risk management functions understanding the risk profile of the company, managing insurance coverage, reporting risk issues, and mitigating all identified risks
Represent the organization externally, as necessary, particularly in banking and credit negotiations and regulatory matters
Finance and Administrative Functions:
Oversee, direct, and organize the work of the finance and administrative teams
Establish, with the assistance of the Controller, financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, monitoring, and reporting standards on monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results to internal and external parties
Oversee policies and procedures around hiring and onboarding new employees
What You'll Need:
Manage efficient administrative and operational accounting services such as treasury management, quoting, purchasing, billing, payroll, and accounts payable
Oversee the management and maintenance of internal IT systems and operations
Oversee the development of IT priorities, policies, and procedures
Develop and execute human resources strategies to support the overall business plan and strategic direction of the company
Establish human resources procedures to monitor employee performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct annual performance appraisals, and administer salary adjustments
Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality
Business or Accounting degree mandatory, a master's in business administration is preferred
CPA preferred
Minimum 10 years of experience in a management role ideally with both external audit and in- house financial management experience in a high-growth organization
In-depth knowledge of financial analysis, accounting, tax compliance and other regulatory matters
Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a team leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical finance and administration initiatives
Proven track record of success facilitating organizational change and development within a growing organization
Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills including negotiation and conflict- resolution skills
Strong mentoring and coaching experience to a team with diverse levels of expertise
Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management and staff
