Job Description:

SUMMARY/ OBJECTIVE

Create an environment where staff members are highly engaged and are focused on providing the highest level of clinical care and compassion to patients, residents and families. Responsible for assuring that the center operates in full compliance with Federal and State regulations, which will result in high levels of performance in each of the center's Strategic Focus Areas. The Executive Director is responsible for planning and is accountable for all activities and departments of the Center subject to rules and regulations promulgated by government agencies to ensure proper health care services to residents. The Executive Director administers, directs, and coordinates all activities of the Center to assure that the highest degree of quality of care is consistently provided to residents.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Ensures the patient and resident is at the center of every decision made.

2. Ensures compliance with State and Federal Regulations

3. Ensures adoption of Journey's policies, guidelines and standards

4. Ensures all elements of the Jouney's culture are embedded in the daily operations

5. Ensures that quality care and services is provided to all patients, residents and that it meets the satisfaction of the patient, resident, family, physicians and other partners.

6. Leads an effective Quality Assurance and Process Improvement (QAPI) Program for the region and ensures all centers have an effective program.

7. Ensures an effective Workforce Management Program is in place, including but not limited to, timely performance management; recruitment; retention; onboarding; orientation; training; and Care Team Member engagement.

8. Collaborates with the -, DON and region team members to develop a business operations plan.

9. Ensures effective stewardship is in place to meet budgetary commitments.

10. Participates in business development meetings including but not limited to hospital C-suites, payers, and physicians to facilitate collaborative partnerships.

11. Ensures each center has active community involvement.

12. Ensures each center has developed an effective business plan designed to meet community and marketplace needs

13. Actively participates in the state Healthcare Association and facilitates center participation at the local and state level.

14. Supports, provides guidance and works collaboratively with regional subject matter consultants.

16. Seeks assistance and works collaboratively with BSC Support Teams to meet Center Business Plans and commitments

17. Collaborates with care team members on risk mitigation and event management.

18. Acts as the Centers compliance officer liaising with the Chief Compliance Officer to ensure adherence to the code of conduct and commitment to integrity.

EDUCATION/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

1. BS/BA Degree from an Accredited College in Healthcare Administration or a related healthcare field preferred

2. The Executive Director must be a licensed Nursing Home Administrator according to state regulation and must attend continuing education as required.

3. Demonstrated ability to manage team performance in a fast- paced environment

4. Demonstrated strength in communication, organization, planning and management.

JOB SKILLS:

1. Excellent interpersonal skill and well-developed verbal and written communication skills.

2. Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergencies, and he/she must have a working knowledge of all government regulations impacting Nursing Centers.

3. General knowledge of accounting principles and practices and a comprehensive knowledge of employee practices and standards.

4. Thorough knowledge of administrative management techniques, supervisory practices, procedures and principles.

5. On-call availability for Center as needed.
