Position Summary: The Program Manager will be responsible for planning, execution, and oversight of programs within Riverbend Energetics, a leading defense manufacturing company. This role is critical in ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. The Program Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to coordinate efforts, manage resources, and maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Program Management:
- Development and implementation of program plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Manage program progress and performance metrics.
- Ensure all program activities align with business objectives and customer requirements.
2. Project Coordination:
- Coordinate with various departments, including engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and quality assurance, to ensure timely completion of program tasks.
- Coordinate resource allocation and management to optimize program efficiency.
- Manage project milestones and deliverables, identifying potential risks and issues.
3. Stakeholder Communication:
- Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.
- Prepare and deliver status reports, presentations, and documentation for program reviews.
- Facilitate meetings and ensure that action items are tracked and completed.
4. Risk Management:
- Identify program risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and report on risk status, ensuring proactive resolution of issues.
- Identify and communicate scope change to be communicated both internally and externally.
- Conduct risk assessments and contingency planning.
5. Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure all program activities comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date program documentation, including plans, schedules, reports, and records.
- Assist in preparing for audits and inspections related to program activities.
6. Continuous Improvement:
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance program management practices.
- Collect and analyze program data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Coordinate the implementation of best practices and lessons learned from previous programs.
7. Budget and Financial Management:
- Monitor program budgets and financial performance for reporting to internal stake holders.
- Prepare cost estimates, proposals, forecasts, and financial reports.
- Ensure programs are executed within budgetary constraints.
8. Proposal Management
- Support preparation and submission of proposals, bids and contract modifications.
- Support proposal and contract negotiations.
- Support change proposals contract modification negotiations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in program management or project coordination within the defense manufacturing industry.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to defense manufacturing.
- PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.
- Experience working with government agencies and/or defense industry.
