We are seeking a highly experienced CMDB Consultant & Resource Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong consulting background, with experience working with ServiceNow, and be responsible for providing expert advice and recommendations on technical solutions to support our IT service management goals. The CMDB Consultant & Resource Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and will work closely with cross-functional teams to support the organization's IT service management goals.
**Key Responsibilities**
CMDB Advisory Services
* Provide expert advice and recommendations on technical solutions to support IT service management goals
* Conduct CMDB assessments and provide recommendations for improvement
* Develop and implement CMDB data models, including configuration items (CI), relationships, and attributes
* Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement CMDB-based solutions
CMDB Configuration and Administration
* Administer and configure the ServiceNow CMDB instance to meet the organization's IT service management needs
* Develop and maintain data validation rules, workflows, and business rules
* Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across the CMDB
Technical Solution Design
* Design and implement technical solutions to support IT service management goals, including CMDB integrations and data migrations
* Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement technical solutions
* Ensure solutions meet organizational requirements and standards
Change Management
* Collaborate with the Change Management team to ensure CMDB data is accurate and up-to-date
* Develop and maintain change requests and deployments in ServiceNow
* Ensure CMDB data is updated to reflect changes to IT assets
Problem Management
* Collaborate with the Problem Management team to identify and resolve problems
* Develop and maintain problem records in ServiceNow
* Ensure CMDB data is updated to reflect problem resolutions
Knowledge Sharing and Collaboration
* Develop and maintain knowledge articles and guides to support CMDB administration and configuration
* Collaborate with stakeholders to share best practices and improve CMDB processes
* Participate in CMDB-related meetings and discussions to ensure alignment with organizational goals
Consulting Services
* Provide consulting services to internal stakeholders on CMDB-related matters
* Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure CMDB goals are aligned with organizational objectives
* Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement CMDB-based solutions
Technical Requirements
* 5+ years of experience with ServiceNow, including CMDB administration and configuration
* Strong consulting background, with experience providing expert advice and recommendations on technical solutions
* Strong understanding of IT service management principles and practices
* Experience with data modeling, data validation, and data analytics
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills
* Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript)
Nice to Have
* ITIL Foundation certification
* Experience with ServiceNow APIs and integrations
* Knowledge of CMDB best practices and industry standards
* Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
