Job Title: Construction Estimator
Job Location: Merritt Island, FL
Job Type: Full-time / Direct-hire
Position Overview The Estimator is responsible for providing accurate and timely estimates for all construction projects including new construction, renovations and repairs. This role estimates labor, materials, subcontractors and other costs related to the project. The Estimator works with project teams to ensure that bids are prepared in a timely manner, are accurate, and meet or exceed requirements. This role is also responsible for making sure that estimates comply with applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations and codes.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate and timely estimates for construction projects based on scope of work, drawings, and other supporting documentation.
Review bid documents and request clarifications as needed. Analyze project data to create accurate cost estimates. Research and develop resources for cost comparison.
Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
Prepare and maintain records and reports.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of bids.
Negotiate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure the most cost-effective solutions are obtained.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in construction estimating.
Knowledge of Commercial Construction, General Construction, HVAC, Electrical, Roofing, and Water Treatment, etc.
Knowledge of construction for the Department of Defense (DoD), Navy, NASA, etc.
Excellent communication and organizational skills. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
