Base Salary ($225k to $275k) with Bonus and Equity
We are searching for a Chief People Officer (CPO) to join the CARFAX team. This role will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and requires a combination of strategic, operational and tactical expertise for our U.S. Team. The CPO will play a critical role in shaping the future of Team CARFAX from Alexandria Virginia. This will be an on-site opportunity.
What you'll be doing:
Strategic Leadership
Creating a global workforce planning framework to ensure that CARFAX has the right people with the right skills in the right locations at the right time
Developing and managing the People budget in concert with current and future staffing needs
Designing, developing and implementing an effective People strategy that aligns with the CARFAX mission, culture, strategy and business goals and promotes continuous improvement in HR practices
Acting as a strategic partner to the executive leadership team and providing insight, innovative thinking and problem solving on critical HR issues
Optimizing the People Team and continuously refining the HR infrastructure by creating and updating policies, programs and initiatives that drive operational efficiency
Organizational Leadership and Culture
Navigating a distributed global work environment to ensure success in implementing policies, programs and initiatives while recognizing regional best practices
Promoting a mission-driven culture focused on business results through a positive, inclusive environment that supports employee excellence, engagement, innovation, belonging, collaboration and accountability
Assessing, refining and embedding diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging principles into the fabric of our culture and workforce
Collaborating with internal communications team to develop and implement an internal communications program to educate and engage employees around the CARFAX mission, culture, strategy and business goals
Human Resources Operations
Aligning the People Team to achieve CARFAX's strategic objectives by reviewing the current structure of the team, identifying talent and knowledge gaps and restructuring as needed
Developing and maintaining clear and equitable employee policies, programs and initiatives that reflect best practices
Overseeing the design and administration of competitive compensation and benefits programs to provide motivation, incentives and rewards for effective performance
Overseeing employee relations issues and ensuring fairness, consistency and compliance
Ensuring HRIS systems and processes are efficient, scalable and support business needs
Overseeing candidate identification, recruitment, selection, hiring and onboarding processes and tools to ensure that CARFAX attracts, develops and retains top talent and remains an employer of choice
Overseeing programs for employee learning and development, performance management and career development
What we're looking for:
Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience, advanced degree preferred, certifications in HR field helpful (e.g., SPHR, GPHR)
At least 10 years leading a global People organization, with a proven history of effective HR leadership in a global environment with a diverse workforce
Demonstrated strong business acumen and critical thinking skills by understanding and articulating the impact of HR strategies on financial performance and operational effectiveness
Effective HR tactician and strategist with a deep understanding of all facets of HR
Strong analytical skills to assess and interpret data to drive decision-making and ensure HR initiatives contribute to business outcomes
Proficient writer and practitioner of equitable HR policies and strategies
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) with ability to connect with people, establish credibility and trust with all employees
Proven ability to work in a demanding environment, both independently and as part of a team, with a hands-on attitude and a willingness to get things done
