Job Description:

LHH Recruitment Solutions' Triad-based team is working with a local client on a Director of Total Rewards search. The right candidate will have a blend of soft skills and hands on experience that position them to set and communicate compensation strategy from the top down! They will have a chance to collaborate with the C-Suite and present to the CEO on all things compensation, benefits, and (eventually,) payroll. Here's what you need to know:

Duties:

-Overseeing comp and benefits and eventually payroll. 60% of this role will be focused on compensation

-Serving as the backup to payroll - willing to train on this piece but they do require a willingness to execute this function

-Growing current team's capabilities and developing them

-Working closely with VP of HR to set executive comp strategy

-Participating in the Comp Committee with C-Suite exec's (and potentially CEO)

-Growing processes and procedures while working with a small team of vendors - this person needs to be in the weeds and be willing to do some of this work themselves

Experience Required:

-Degreed

-Extensive experience with compensation strategy - ability to determine competitiveness in the market

-Familiarity with SERPS - long term retirement plans that are funded by annuities

-Experience building executive compensation plans. Extensive experience managing deferred comp programs.

-Experience with market surveys

Experience Preferred:

-CCP Certificate

-Software Familiarity: HR Soft, Comp Analyst, Pay Factors

Soft Skills:

-Able to wear multiple hats

-Ability to teach others and communicate complex concepts to people with very little visibility of compensation

-Comp people tend to be very data driven - that's important in this role - especially with market surveys as they evaluate competitive advantage. That said, they need this person to let data guide the decision without being the ONLY factor that guides the decision. Their CEO looks at and appreciates data but is a big picture thinker. This person needs to be able to allow for some nuance and not get frustrated. They need to be mentally flexible.

Compensation for this role goes up to $150K with a 20% annual bonus. They offer medical, dental, vision, and an HSA that's supported by their Wellness plan. They offer 20 days of PTO the first year - accruing beginning day one of employment!
