NOVA Engineering is seeking a Construction Materials Lab Technician in the South Atlanta, GA metropolitan statistical area (MSA). This person will perform daily work in the lab, assist project managers, help with scheduling, and perform senior technician duties for transportation-related projects.
This candidate will be providing quality assurance/quality control testing for a variety transportation projects, but any commercial experience is very beneficial. Successful candidates must perform on site observations/inspections, collect samples per GDOT, ACI, and ASTM requirements, perform specific QA/QC tests on construction materials and transportation components, and maintain detail records of observations, inspections, and test results.
Positions require ability to lift and/or move 35-100 pounds regularly. Good vision and manual dexterity required. This position is classified as direct labor and generally has a billable goal of 100% of the hours worked.
Job Duties:
Conduct and document tests on various construction materials with precision and attention to detail. While you collaborate with experienced colleagues, you'll also work independently, ensuring test results are logical, complete, and ready for review.
Ensure all laboratory equipment is well-maintained and properly calibrated. Your role will be vital in keeping the lab running efficiently and ensuring the accuracy of our testing processes.
Desired Qualifications, Experience and Education:
2+ years' construction materials testing experience in a laboratory setting
ACI Aggregate Testing Level I and II certifications are highly preferred
The following certifications are also desirable: ACI Concrete Strength Testing, GDOT Aggregates Technician
Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
Valid State Driver's license with clean driving record
