Position Overview The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the financial management and reporting of the company. This individual will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP, conducting audits, and providing tax support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with a thorough understanding of GAAP principles and experience with audits and tax preparation.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage all accounting activities, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and journal entries
Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP principles and company policies
Conduct regular audits of financial processes and procedures, identifying areas for improvement
Provide tax support, including preparation and filing of tax returns and responding to tax inquiries or audits
Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
Manage and train junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed
Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes
Stay updated on accounting regulations and changes in tax laws, making recommendations for adjustments as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a senior or managerial role
Strong understanding of GAAP principles and experience with audits and tax preparation
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is a plus
