Cheese Department
Phase 1 Vats

Hours: 2200-0630


Days off: Rotating



Job Summary and Responsibilities:




Job Duties: Effectively monitor cheese making equipment including but not limited to; pasteurizers, separators, standardizing equipment, analyzing equipment & cheese vats. Ensure the correct addition & documentation of ingredients including but not limited to: milk, cream, protein, starter, rennet, lipase, calcium & acid. Record & interpret data to make informed decisions and / or recommendations for optimum cheese making conditions. Clean all related equipment as needed to ensure sanitary conditions. Perform assigned Master Sanitation duties.

Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner. Keeps Food Safety as a top priority all times. Promptly reports any unsafe working conditions. Demonstrates good interpersonal communication skills. Understands and follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) Demonstrates integrity in all business activities with employees, visitors and vendors. Comply with all quality & food safety systems and regulatory requirements. Reliable and available to work overtime or holidays as required. Performs other duties as required.



Physical Demands
:



Frequently required to stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel, talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.



Specific job selection criteria
:

• Cheese making experience preferred


• Must possess a valid California State Pasteurizer License or have the ability to pass the exam within six months of starting in the position

Hourly Range: $29.63 to $34.91
