Expeditor/Material Handler




Huntsville, AL




Contract Position




Responsibilities:

• 
  Coordinate material flow: Work with Production Control to ensure timely delivery of materials to manufacturing work centers and resolve any discrepancies.


• 
  Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with warehouse, quality inspection, purchasing, logistics, and other departments to manage material movement and resolve shortages.


• 
  Expedite parts: Monitor and expedite part movement via move orders, stock transfers, and shipping requests, ensuring parts reach technicians and work centers as needed.


• 
  ERP system management: Enter material transactions, process scrap and obsolete inventory, and assist with cycle counts in the ERP system.


• 
  Monitor production: Track job flow through production lines, partnering with Production Control to meet schedules and address delays.


• 
  Safe material handling: Enforce safe handling practices and operate equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks, and lift tables.

Qualifications:

• 
  Experience: 2+ years in supply chain management, inventory control, or materials handling.


• 
  Systems Knowledge: Experience with Materials Requirement Planning (MRP), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), or similar systems.


• 
  Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs unassisted and perform physically demanding tasks like standing, climbing, and pushing.


• 
  Clearance: Must be a U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident (Green Card holder).


• 
  Preferred Skills:
  
  
  
  • Experience with planning and scheduling activities.
  
  
  • Familiarity with backflush and Kanban processes.
  
  
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
