Korn Ferry's Benefits practice is seeking an analyst to assist with the performance of actuarial and employee benefits-related work. This position will be focused primarily on GASB 74/75 reporting initially, with the opportunity to participate in broader healthcare work such as Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) work, healthcare rate settings and reserving, private-sector valuation work, and other rewards and benefits related services.

The analyst will work under the guidance and supervision of experienced actuaries and team members to deliver exceptional results to clients. The position is remote and requires the ability to work both collaboratively and individually.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Deliver high quality valuation work that meets expectations for timeliness, accuracy, and completeness.

  • Manage a significant work-stream of valuations.

  • Prepare clear and concise documentation of our review of the benefits structure, census data, assumptions, and recommendations.

  • Communicate complex actuarial concepts in a clear and understandable manner.


PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated expertise in mathematics or other technical discipline.

  • Strong data analysis capability.

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel including a variety of Excel functions such as sumproduct, vlookup, and pivot tables.

  • Proficiency in Word and PowerPoint preferred.

  • Experience with ProVal is preferred.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills as evidenced by appropriate course work, internships, or the verbal scores on SAT, GRE, or GMAT exams.

  • Demonstrated ability to document and explain complex factual information in precise and concise written form, using technical terms and standard English.

  • Demonstrated excellence in attention to detail and highly organized.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver work under time pressure, while working in both a team environment and individually, maintaining flexibility and adaptability.

  • Intellectual curiosity, along with the desire to seek new challenges.


EDUCATION

  • Upper-level college student, recent graduate, or career change. Candidate should have made substantial progress toward a bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Finance, or similar field.

  • Passed one or more actuarial exams.
