Position Summary:
The Administrative Specialist II is responsible for researching and preparing special reports, examining and verifying documents, and performing general office duties. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Greet students, faculty, staff, and visitors at the front desk, rotating between the Admissions and Welcome Center
Answers incoming phone calls
Help the Welcome Center Coordinator by p rovid ing oversight of student employees
Check visitors in for tours at the Welcome Center
Be available as a backup for Welcome Center campus tour presentations and assist with campus tours when needed
Ensures that all mail is checked, opened, date stamped, and handed to the appropriate staff members daily
Processes returned mail
Manages and answers emails that come to the Welcome Center email account or distribute emails to the appropriate team member
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of record keeping procedures Knowledge of computers and software applications
Ability to give group presentations Ability to assist with walking tours Ability to operate standard office equipment Ability to analyze documents to determine compliance with rules, regulations, and procedures Ability to communicate both orally and in writing
General Days/Hours:
Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Additional hours as requested and/or needed Regular and reliable attendance

Minimum Qualifications:
The formal education equivalent of a High School Diploma
Two (2) years of experience in a specialized or related area applicable to work performed
Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or parts of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the qualifications review committee
