Proficient at performing standard laboratory and applications testing.
Ability to make detailed observations of lab tests and to accurately record the data and observations in a laboratory notebook and in spreadsheets.
Ability to manage laboratory workflow for multiple, concurrent development and applications projects.
Communicate results, observations, and work progress to management.
Interact with customers by effectively communicating project updates and presenting project results.
Work with hazardous chemicals using appropriate safety procedures and practices.
Develop new innovative products and improve existing formulas.
Conduct market research and evaluate similar products and their functions.
Accurately maintain R&D project records, using current Good Documentation Practices.
Manage/source raw materials and maintain supplier relationships.
Review previous and current formulas and processes to streamline scale-up.

Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or equivalent. Other technical degrees will be considered based on prior job experience.
10+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a chemical or process manufacturing environment
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
Familiarity with large-scale reaction processes, the hazards associated with chemical processes, and process safety
Good customer skills, strategic thinking, with a strong technical aptitude
Must have excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization
Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize multiple work deadlines
Ability to work an eight (8) hour shift in a lab environment. Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time at a bench performing tasks.
Familiarity with ERP Systems/Formulation Software
Strong computer usage skills (Word, Excel, etc.)
