Job Description:

Overview of the Position

The Purchasing Agent will purchase the goods, materials, supplies, equipment, and services essential for our operations. You'll negotiate with suppliers, manage relationships, and ensure timely delivery of goods while optimizing costs and quality. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, a solid grasp of supply chain management, and demonstrated experience in similar roles. This position requires excellent time- management skills, strong organizational skills , and the ability to multitask in a fast paced, time is of the essence environment. This position requires to work in the office.

A positive attitude, excellent oral and written communication skills and overall friendly, outgoing disposition are a pre-requisite to succeed in this position.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
• None.

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Work with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and sales.
• Purchases goods and services according to the company's policies and procedures.
• Ensures that purchasing documents are complete and accurate and include appropriate and reasonable terms and conditions.
• Maintain procurement records, including items/services purchased, costs, delivery details, product quality/performance, and inventory levels.
• Process and document returns following established procedures.
• Process prepayments with corporate credit card.
• Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery and compliance with terms of contracts.
• Analyze and resolve purchasing issues/discrepancies.
• Approve vendor invoices for payment in a timely manner.
• Participate in cost reduction activities, observe and report price increases.
• Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven negotiation skills.
• Quick thinker who can multitask with experience in a high-volume environment.
• Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies.
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
• Understanding of GAAP accounting principles.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Deadline-driven with excellent time management ability.
• Experience in NetSuite ERP highly advantageous.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in related field highly preferred.
• Previous working experience as a Purchasing Agent for at least three years.
• Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP software suite.

Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine purchasing needs.
• This position is required to work onsite.
