Talisman is partnered with a leading civil engineering consultancy with a strong focus on transportation, infrastructure, and environmental services. They specialize in delivering complex highway and roadway design projects, working with public and private clients to improve transportation systems. The Pittsburgh office is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead highway projects and contribute to our continued success in the region.

Position Overview:

As a Project Manager - Highway, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of highway and roadway projects in Pennsylvania. You will be responsible for managing all phases of project execution, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements. This position will also focus on client management, team leadership, and business development efforts in the transportation sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: Lead highway and roadway design projects from conception through to construction, ensuring that all project goals are met. This includes overseeing project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Client Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, including state DOTs, municipal governments, and private sector clients. Ensure client satisfaction through proactive communication and high-quality deliverables.
  • Team Leadership: Manage a team of engineers, designers, and technical staff to deliver projects in accordance with company and client expectations. Provide mentorship and foster a collaborative working environment.
  • Technical Oversight: Ensure that all technical aspects of highway and roadway design are executed effectively. This includes geometric design, traffic analysis, drainage, pavement design, and environmental considerations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all projects adhere to state, federal, and local regulations, including those set by PennDOT and other relevant authorities.
  • Business Development: Support the growth of the transportation division by identifying new business opportunities, preparing proposals, and attending client meetings. Participate in industry events to represent the company and build relationships.
  • Financial Management: Oversee project budgets, ensuring cost control and financial performance. Prepare and review project financial reports.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Pennsylvania required.
  • 8+ years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on highway and roadway design.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing highway projects, preferably with PennDOT or municipal clients.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, InRoads, or related software.
  • Strong understanding of AASHTO guidelines and FHWA regulations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and client management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.
