Job Description: Insight Global is looking for a controller to join a fast-growing, family owned, pool construction and design company in Charleston, SC. This position is a senior management role that oversees all operations of the organization's finance and accounting department to ensure the business is operating effectively and efficiently. This includes the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and management of a comprehensive set of controls, budgets, and forecasting designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Day-to-Day:
Develop and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
Manage outsourced functions; PEO, BPO, ERP Monitor the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
Monitor the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations or entities, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures
Stay abreast new regulatory guidelines by remaining aware of new state and federal regulations, participating in educational opportunities, and reading professional publications
Implement an ERP System for the company; including research, implementation, and training to the organization Lead the solution vetting, executive presentation, and system implementation cycle an Inventory Management System Manage internal finance team; include AR, AP, Bookkeeper, and Payroll stakeholders
Ensure all accounts payable are paid timely and all reasonable discounts are taken on invoices
Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly Manage cash flow; Delivering margin improvement strategies quarterly
Oversee the payroll processing (26) function, ensuring a timely delivery
Ensure that monthly bank and credit card reconciliations are completed Ensure that required debt payments (company credit cards, loans, or lines of credit) are paid in a timely basis
Maintain the company's chart of accounts
Develop and maintain an orderly accounting filing system (paper and/or digital)
Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
