Infosys is seeking a Mainframes DBA. This position will interface with key stakeholders and apply your technical proficiency to install, setup, operate and maintain Databases (IMS, DB2) for Mainframe / mid-range systems across pre-production and production environments including Requirements Elicitation, Database Design, Database configurations, operational procedures, monitoring and support; play an important role in enabling high application & database availability; supports Business and development teams with timely resolutions of issues; lead validation for all types of testing and support activities related to implementation, transition and warranty; be part of a learning culture, where teamwork and collaboration are encouraged, excellence is rewarded, and diversity is respected and valued.
Required Qualifications:
Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Richardson, TX or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel to project locations.
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
Min 4 years of Information Technology experience
4+ Years of Experience in Mainframe IMS DB, DB2, z/OS experience
3+ years of experience in Tier 1 & Tier 2 End user support
Preferred Qualifications:
Create, tune, and monitor IMS and DB2 systems for performance.
Candidate must be highly proficient with all aspects of the z/OS operating system administration and support of IMS
Knowledge of creating stored procedures and queries in DB2
Develop scripts for DB configuration and maintenance routines
Drive standardization and alignment across various countries
Communicate major planned changes and/or initiatives effectively
Prepare and submit relevant chargeback reports for region
Submit relevant reports in a timely manner for the region.
Ensure firmware level currency across the environment.
Actively participate in the configuration and performance tuning of the storage infrastructure
Support DR, Autoswap drills where required.
Support maintenance / break fix activities.
Support data migration where required.
The job may also entail sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Candidates should be able to effectively communicate by telephone, email, and face to face.
