Position Description:
The client is seeking applicants for a Technical Business Systems Analyst position. This position will focus on project documentation, task management, and project coordination. The position will also be involved in areas of system administration and system testing to internal applications to the Web Development Specialized Apps (WDSA) team. This position will be required to work onsite a minimum of three (3) assigned days per week at the client's headquarters located at Ninth Street, in Richmond, Virginia.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities The successful candidate will be highly motivated with analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in a dynamic environment where multi-tasking and/or changing focus is often needed.
Primary duties include, but are not limited to: • Creating and updating system and project documentation. • Assisting with system testing. • Backing up team members as needed. • Assisting with internally developed systems as needed. • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications/Experience: • 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or related field. • Associates degree or 5 years' experience in an IT field. • Detail oriented, with a technical aptitude. • Well-developed analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects at any given point in time. • Ability to switch focus from project to project or task to task at a moment's notice. • Proven experience in gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements and use cases. • Experience in creating comprehensive and clear documentation. • Proficiency in modeling techniques, requirements gathering, and documentation. • Ability to conduct stakeholder interviews and workshops to elicit requirements. • Experience in translating business requirements into detailed system specifications. • Ability to create process flow diagrams, data flow diagrams, and other relevant documentation. • Ability to plan, schedule and conduct meetings, as well as draft agendas and meeting minutes. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Ability to work collaboratively with project managers and development teams. • Familiarity with collaboration tools and project management software. • Ability to interact and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management and staff. • Ability to generate test cases for any phase, initial QA through UAT. • Ability to perform system testing using test cases. Additional Preferred Qualifications • Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.). • Understanding of the systems development life cycle (SDLC). • Understanding of quality assurance processes and methodologies. • Familiarity with project management concepts and practices. • Preferred Technology knowledge: Microsoft Office, Visio, JIRA, SharePoint, Box, ServiceNow (System Admin).
