Summary of Position:

The PMO Director is responsible for all aspects of the end-to-end project management process and the successful execution of all growth and margin improvement initiatives. Leading the PMO team, this role is responsible for the overall company project governance process (stage gates) and overseeing all project execution covering diverse enterprise projects (innovation, new customer introduction, product maintenance, cost reduction). Includes responsibility for standards and quality of all processes, meetings, and tools within the PMO scope.

Role will support the multi-year product and portfolio growth strategy, working with product development and brand to ensure pipeline of innovation is in place to satisfy business objectives. In addition, will develop and maintain all new launch timelines and ensure project milestones are delivered on time by the cross functional team and all cost, time and quality risks are appropriately managed. Support portfolio optimization by working with brand team to ensure annual SKU productivity / disco process is effectively managed.

The role will also entail support and/or ownership of identified non innovation projects within the PMO scope, including but not limited to, new customer introductions, product optimization and packaging transitions. This role requires a leader that is both a strategic thinker and a results-focused operator. The Director, Project Manager needs to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment, be a highly collaborative team player and with strong influencing skills.

Principle Accountabilities:
  • Lead stage gate process - Enterprise-wide project management and Calendaring, ensuring deliverables and milestones are met in accordance to each project
  • Lead new launch development cross-functional teams, including all periodic meetings and documentation.
  • Own and maintain all new launch timelines to ensure project milestones are met, including meeting actions, approvals, key decisions, risks and escalations.
  • Initiate and lead cross company initiatives, including all periodic meetings and documentation for product maintenance / regulatory change, customer acquisition plus margin improvement projects.
  • Seek areas of opportunity for process development and improvement across the cross functional team, implementing tools and training to ensure proper roll out.
  • Lead PMO tool selection / management, templates, and meeting agendas to ensure each project is clearly communicated, timelines are tracked, and that risks are clearly visible and communicated.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of professional experience managing complex projects with multiple inter-dependencies.
  • Previous experience leading a team of project managers.
  • Previous experience working for a beauty brand and/or cosmetics category.
  • Previous experience working within a PMO, or as a business project lead
  • Possess outstanding interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate clearly and concisely, and willingness to share ideas with individuals at all levels.
  • Demonstrated skill working with cross-functional project teams with overlapping dependencies.
  • Prior experience managing and escalating risk, for actionable results.
  • Highly organized and results driven, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to work with a wide range of internal and external partners
  • Must enjoy working in a fluid and fast paced environment and be a master of multi-tasking
  • PC proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, MS Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams
  • Familiarity with a project management tool (MS Project) or a collaboration tool (Microsoft Teams)
  • Willingness to take the initiative to resolve adversarial relationships; both internally and externally
  • Ability to present clear, timely and actionable status updates to leadership teams

Travel Requirements:

Non essential. Less than 5%, ad hoc consideration only and to be approved by direct manager.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to perform essential functions (with or without an accommodation) without posing a "direct threat" to the health and safety to self or others.
