Job Description:

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong background in electrical systems to join our team in the petrochemical industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of complex electrical projects within petrochemical facilities, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical systems, project management, and the specific safety and regulatory requirements of the petrochemical industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: Lead and manage large-scale electrical projects from inception to completion, ensuring all project milestones and deliverables are met within the agreed timeline and budget.
  • Scope and Budget Control: Define project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders. Develop and manage detailed project budgets, tracking project costs, and ensuring alignment with financial goals.
  • Electrical Expertise: Provide technical oversight and guidance in the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems in petrochemical environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA, and IEEE).
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all projects adhere to relevant safety regulations and petrochemical industry standards, including OSHA, environmental compliance, and process safety management (PSM).
  • Vendor and Contractor Coordination: Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure the timely procurement of materials, equipment, and services. Oversee vendor relationships to ensure quality and cost-effective solutions.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes. Proactively resolve any issues or bottlenecks that arise during project execution.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary project team, including engineers, electricians, and administrative staff. Provide clear direction and communication to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders. Regularly update senior management on project status, risks, and outcomes through reports and presentations.
  • Scheduling and Resource Management: Develop and maintain project schedules, allocate resources efficiently, and adjust plans as needed to accommodate project changes and priorities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement best practices in project management and electrical engineering, driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and project performance.

Qualifications:
  • Education: College, Project Management, or a related field. PMP certification is a plus.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience managing electrical projects in the petrochemical, oil & gas, or industrial sectors, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of electrical systems, design, installation, and maintenance in hazardous environments. Familiarity with petrochemical process systems is required.
  • Project Management Expertise: Demonstrated ability to manage multi-million-dollar projects, including scope, schedule, budget, and team management.
  • Safety Compliance: In-depth understanding of industry-specific safety regulations and experience with safety-first project execution in high-risk environments.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
  • Leadership Abilities: Proven leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills with a focus on achieving project success through effective team collaboration.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members at all levels.
  • Certifications: PMP, State Journeyman Electrical license, or equivalent certifications related to electrical systems in industrial environments are highly preferred.
