Program Coordinator
The School of Humanities and Sciences (H&S) is the foundation of a liberal arts education at Stanford. The school encompasses 23 departments and 25 interdisciplinary programs. Department/Program Description: The Bing Stanford in Washington Program is a fully immersive residential program for juniors and seniors. Students live together in the Bass Center, in picturesque Woodley Park, where they also take classes and eat meals together. During the week students in the Program work at full-time internships at a wide range of governmental, non-governmental and cultural organizations. On weekends students often attend cultural events and explore Washington, D.C. Stanford in Washington operates during the Fall, Winter, and Spring Quarters of the academic year. All three quarters feature academic program with a general focus on politics and public policy in a variety of different areas. Students from all majors are encouraged to attend the program.
Position Summary: The Department of Stanford in Washington is seeking a Program Coordinator to provide operational and administrative support. The Program Coordinator should be highly motivated, enthusiastic, well-organized, and able to work independently. The successful candidate will have developed interpersonal skills and have proven experience in an office environment. This person can work independently and be an effective member of a team and demonstrates a willingness to provide backup assistance to others. The candidate will be able to work well under pressure, often with frequent interruptions, and be able to multi-task in order to complete tasks accurately, thoroughly and in a timely manner. The Program Coordinator will plan student activities, cultural events and trips as well as provide administrative support working with Stanford in Washington staff. They will assist the Art Gallery curator with duties associated with the installation and de-installation of exhibits. This job is located in Washington, D.C.
The ideal candidate is a friendly, proactive and dependable self-starter with strong interpersonal and communication skills. This is a busy position at times requiring a high level of professionalism, productivity, accuracy, organization, multi-tasking, independence, sound judgment, and decision-making. The position requires a motivated person with a positive attitude and a passion for customer service and supporting others to manage a wide variety of tasks in a fast-paced academic environment with frequently shifting priorities.
This is a 100% FTE, continuing, non-exempt position. This position will be based at the D.C. Stanford in Washington campus in Washington, D.C.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
·High school diploma and three years of administrative experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
The expected pay range for this position is $31.79 to $37.96 per hour.
