BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Application Programmer V for an opportunity in
Charlotte, NC




Position Title: Application Programmer V /Production Support




Location: Charlotte, NC




Anticipated Start Date: ASAP

Expected Duration: 12 Months contract




Job Type: [ FULL TIME /CONTRACT /ON-SITE]



Pay Range:
$50/hr-$56/hr

Job Description:

• Support Services include incident management (single user, branch outages, and infrastructure triage), coordination with problem management, constant knowledge building, identification & implementation of process improvements, including but not limited to runbooks, monitoring, alerting, working with partner teams on process gaps, technology gaps, or stability concerns. Will be accountable for timely updates (including senior leadership) and restoration of all production application issues.

• Provide day-to-day application support for aligned applications by reviewing pertinent logging (including platforms with limited documentation)


• Drive for root cause analysis to application outages and provide quick service restoration (including single user and branch issues)


• Improve application stability and reduce errors present in the environment.


• Work closely with technology infrastructure teams, development, and testing teams in supporting integrated/independent releases, software/hardware upgrades, server upgrades, etc.


• Reduce Development escalation and ensure issues are resolved within the team.


• Proactively monitor and manage the production environment.


• Act as the point of escalation for the business and manage end-user client relationship.


• Ability to support nights/weekends for on-call coverage, including monthly release-related events.

Required Skills

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in financial application support


• 2+ years of Splunk and/or Dynatrace


• Strong knowledge of UNIX/LINUX and Windows server with Administration experience.


• Applications - Java, Sprint Boot, Kafka, Cockroach, Redis,


• Previous experience with Remedy and JIRA


• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills


• Strong verbal and written communications skills


• Able to work in a complex environment with little management oversight

Desired skills (one or more)

• Microsoft Excel, OneNote


• Ability to troubleshoot network related issues using NetScout or other related tools


• Experience supporting .NET applications (familiar with DebugDiag, etc.)


• Experience with MQ messaging, Working knowledge of FIX Protocol.


• Experience with Oracle, MS SQL, Sybase, Mainframe, and DB2


• Windows Clustering and Autosys.


• ITIL Certification
