SMART Purpose:
Our purpose is to break the cycle of poverty and positively impact the trajectory of lives. We
achieve this by identifying the physical, social, emotional, and behavioral barriers to classroom
success and then delivering interventions to address those barriers, and thus creating optimal
conditions for learning through the deployment of Active Access to deliver Active Care for ALL
students, school faculty and staff, and students’ families.
Position Summary:
Support the nurse practitioners and other providers in delivering quality Active Care to
ambulatory patients and perform a variety of nursing related tasks to promote continuity of care.
The nurse plays a key role in the triaging of students, running the front desk, and being
responsible for the intake of incoming patients all in keeping with the SMART Whole Child,
Whole School approach.
FTE: .70, work hours match school calendar
PTO (to be taken during non-school days) and Health Insurance
Qualifications/Requirements:
? B.S.N. from an accredited school of nursing or college preferred. Current R.N. Rhode Island
state license required..
? Current CPR certification.
? Current DOT Drug Screen Certification.
? Performs accurate high-quality work in a courteous manner within a fast-paced environment.
? Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel).
? Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training required.
? Familiarity with equipment used in ambulatory care.
? Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish preferred.
