Overview



As we embark on an exciting transformation from Newport Beachside Hotel to The Sunny, we're looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Lead Server to take charge and help us elevate our dining experience. This is a unique opportunity to be part of our rebranding journey and make a lasting impact on our guests.


As a Lead Server, you will play a key role in leading our front-of-house dining team, ensuring that each guest receives a first-class experience in line with the fresh, vibrant identity of The Sunny. You'll bring a high level of service and attention to detail while helping guide your team through the changes that come with our rebranding.


The future Sunny in the heart of Sunny Isles Beach is poised to redefine the beach getaway experience offering a perfect blend of rich history and unparalleled amenities. The resort will feature 339 spacious guest rooms, an eclectic private art collection, six food and beverage outlets, a fitness center, spa & salon, ocean-front pool with tiki bar and fire pits, beach club, and over 22,000 square feet of event space, including a unique oceanfront terrace.



Responsibilities




What You'll Be Doing

• 
  Delivering Top-Tier Service
  
  Provide exceptional table service to our guests, ensuring every interaction leaves a lasting impression and aligns with the guest experience we're crafting at The Sunny.


• 
  Team Leadership
  
  Mentor and guide the serving team, setting the example for service standards, professionalism, and teamwork. You'll be responsible for training new staff and ensuring smooth operations during each shift.


• 
  Facilitating Guest Satisfaction
  
  Handle guest inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and with care. You'll be a key point of contact for ensuring guests leave happy and satisfied.


• 
  Menu Knowledge and Recommendations
  
  Familiarize yourself with our evolving menus and help servers and guests understand the new offerings, making recommendations based on guest preferences.


• 
  Ensuring Smooth Service Flow
  
  Manage the dining room floor, keeping the flow of service running smoothly, and maintaining communication with kitchen staff to ensure orders are accurate and timely.


• 
  Problem Solving and Decision Making
  
  Take charge when challenges arise, whether it's a guest issue or a team-related problem. Your quick thinking and leadership will ensure minimal disruptions to service.


• 
  Supporting New Initiatives
  
  As The Sunny evolves, you'll play a role in introducing new service initiatives, helping incorporate the changes we're making in line with our new brand.

Qualifications




What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in a server or lead server role, preferably in a high-volume restaurant or hotel


• Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to mentor and motivate staff


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail


• A passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences


• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays


• A positive attitude and a willingness to adapt to our new brand as The Sunny
