Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced LIHTC Property Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of LIHTC regulations and accounting practices, as well as a passion for affordable housing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of financial reporting for LIHTC properties, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations and manage cash flow for assigned properties.
- Oversee rent collections, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Ensure timely submission of required compliance reports and tax credit applications.
- Collaborate with property management to support operational needs and provide financial insights.
- Assist in audits and work closely with external auditors as needed.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in property accounting, preferably with LIHTC properties.
- Strong knowledge of LIHTC regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
