Position Summary:

W&M seeks an organized and service-oriented Talent Acquisition Partner to guide and support the hiring process. The position focuses on employment and on-boarding transactions and includes significant computer work. The position provides outstanding customer service and interfaces with new hires and supervisors. Regular in-person presence is required.




  • Support and advise stakeholders throughout the recruitment, selection, and hiring processes

  • Execute employment-related transactions, using multiple systems

  • Review/write job postings with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and marketability

  • Review offer requests and provide guidance as needed

  • Coordinate onboarding needs such as orientations, i9's, and systems records

  • As assigned, assist other members of the Talent Acquisition Team

  • May support the development and implementation of search procedures and training

  • Responds to AskHR tickets in a timely manner

  • Other duties as assigned, such as supporting hiring-related compliance and assisting with job fairs





Conditions of Employment:



  • This is a non-exempt position, eligible to receive overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act.

  • This position may be subject to overtime during high peak times, etc. as directed and approved by the supervisor.

  • During the Aug 10 - Sept 9 payrolls, this position may require additional hours with limited leave/time off options.

Required Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Knowledge of or the ability to master general employment processes such as posting positions, closing positions, USCIS/I-9 verification, and background checks

  • Strong customer service orientation, to include diplomacy and tact

  • The ability to provide clear, sound guidance

  • Ability to use a variety of software applications, to include Word, Excel, and human resource systems

  • Experience working effectively and efficiently as a member of a diverse team or a commitment to doing so at W&M


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Post-secondary education and or training in human resources
    Working knowledge of Banner HR Module or other translatable system (i.e Payroll, HRIS)
    Experience using People Admin (ATS) or other applicant tracking system
    Experience working for a VA state agency and or in higher education

Hybrid (works remotely at least 1 day per week but not full-time)

Advertised Pay Range:

Up to $51,000, commensurate with experience.


Advertised Pay Range Statement:

All hiring rates are commensurate with relevant experience up to the advertised amount considering internal alignment.
