Lytx is growing rapidly and the hardware portfolio is expanding fast, both in number of products and production volumes. This position will play a key role as Lytx scales, by driving continuous improvement in product quality, time to market and hardware design. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced technical leader with strong analytical skills and exceptional ability to gain alignment and drive technical issue resolution, leveraging quality management and data analysis development skills. Successful applicants will have significant experience with existing and new product introductions which includes the outsourced manufacturing of complex electronic products.

You'll Get To:

  • Technology Leadership: Provide technical leadership with cross functional design & manufacturing teams to continuously improve the quality of Lytx products.
  • Research & Development: Provide statistically valid, data-based recommendations to senior management on complex technical issues; Develop and implement product life expectancy models to predict reliability performance and ensure alignment with corporate warranty and product life expectancy goals.
  • Quality Resolution: Understand the business impact of investigation urgency, using multiple reviews and cross-organizational feedback to minimize risk to the business
  • Data Analysis: Implement data analysis structure and techniques to quickly identify and resolve complex hardware quality or reliability issues; Develop process to convert product technical requirements into measurable technical performance parameters.
  • Structured Problem Solving and Experimentation: Lead Lytx team development of well-structured problem-solving methods and effective design of experiments.
  • Design and Production Quality Optimization: Participate in product design and production readiness reviews to enable Dfx best practices and early ramp product quality stability.
  • Product Reliability Assurance: Assess component/material specifications, critical parameter identification and product quality test plans to ensure alignment with product reliability goals.
  • Process Optimization: Provide team guidance to optimize quality, reliability, lean manufacturing, statistical process control and quality assurance of manufacturing facilities and processes.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with additional graduate coursework required. Advanced expertise in data mining/analysis, reliability engineering and materials science is preferred.
  • An accomplished individual contributor and positive influencer that can motivate both internal and external teams to build a world class quality culture
  • Ability to research, develop and specify advanced materials to proactively design and manufacture robust products for use in an automotive environment.
  • Proficient in analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, and failure analysis, with expertise in leading design of experiments, conducting Design & Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and utilizing statistical data analysis to identify root causes.
  • Experienced using advanced risk and reliability practices to identify, manage and eliminate product and system integration failures.
  • Maintains strong ties with academia or independent labs to help drive in depth understanding of technology gaps and industry best practices.
  • Experienced with phase gate development process for new product introductions
  • Comfortable in ambiguous situations and drives clarity quickly to help technical team focus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • At least 20 years of experience in electronics design, manufacturing and product quality management (PCBA and box build assembly)

Salary is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is also eligible for an incentive compensation plan. The expected hiring salary for this position is:

$167,500.00 - $212,500.00
