This position is responsible for operating machinery to ensure the continuous flow of product thru the production process. Responsible for monitoring and adjusting machine settings as needed and notifying supervisor if machines should require maintenance while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Job Duties:
Follow all production schedules and procedures.
Follow plant GMP, HACCP and Safety policies.
Fill out all cooking and grinding documentation correctly.
Monitor the corn cooking process - ensure that the correct times and temperatures are being met and monitor the progress of each tank.
Document all lot numbers, cook times and temperatures
Monitor the grinding of the corn into masa and the transfer of the masa to the sheeter.
Check masa frequently to obtain proper texture and moisture levels.
Communicate with the Sheeter Operator to produce tortillas that meet specifications.
Adjust and make changes to the masa to ensure product quality.
Notify supervisor of any observed problems or issues.
Keep debris off the floor and the room to maintain area in a sanitary condition.
Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry 80 pounds or more. Regularly required to stand, stoop, bend, climb ladders, change work levels, twist and squat, climb stairs, reach, push, pull and move about the facility. Work in hot, cold, and wet environments.
Must be able to read explicit simple instructions and do required paperwork.
Must wear safety equipment, etc. and follow GMP's.
Perform other related duties and assignments as required by Supervisor.
Must 3 months of work history with the same employer.
