Volt is hiring Tool & Die Makers for our client in Moscow, IA.

Position Details

• 
  Shift: 1st shift (7 AM - 3:30 PM), with overtime opportunities
• 
  Days: Monday - Friday
• 
  Pay Rate: $30 - $40 per hour
• 
  Screenings: No background check, Drug screen required
• 
  Dress Code: Jeans, T-shirt, and work shoes
• 
  Pay Rate: $30-$40 per hour

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.

As a Tool and Die Maker, you will be responsible for:

• Operating manually controlled machine tools (lathes, milling machines, grinding machines, and jig grinders), power tools (die grinders and rotary tools), and hand tools (files and honing stones).
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, design schematics, and CAD drawings.
• Visualizing and computing metal shapes and tolerances.
• Designing jigs and templates as work aids in the fabrication of parts.
• Measuring and marking metal stock for machining.
• Setting up machine tools such as drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machines.
• Cutting and shaping blocks to specified dimensions.
• Filling, grinding, and shimming metals to ensure a smooth finish.
• Fitting and assembling tools and die parts.
• Inspecting finished dies and tools for defects, smoothness, and contour deformities.
• Conducting test runs with completed tools and dies.

What We're Looking For:

• Experience operating manual machines such as lathes, milling machines, grinding machines, and jig grinders.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment performing the same or similar duties.
• Skills in AutoCAD or SolidWorks (a plus).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, design schematics, and CAD drawings.
