Position Overview: As the Medical Director of North America Medical Affairs, you will be a strategic thought leader responsible for providing expert medical guidance and contributing to the development and execution of launch strategies as part of the broader Medical Affairs initiatives. In this role, you will lead content development, educational programs for Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and support cross-functional field teams across North America. Reporting to the Senior Medical Director of North America, you will play a pivotal role in advancing scientific leadership in rare neuroendocrine disorders, including hypothalamic obesity and other pipeline indications. This position is ideal for a self-motivated, collaborative individual who is passionate about making an impact in the rare disease space.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a cohesive, high-impact medical strategy for Rare Obesity in North America, with a particular focus on hypothalamic obesity and other pipeline indications.
  • Engage and collaborate with KOLs and key stakeholders to gather insights and facilitate the launch of new indications.
  • Work closely with Field Medical, Global Medical Affairs, Commercial, and other cross-functional teams to ensure the alignment of educational initiatives and engagement strategies with objectives and KOL knowledge needs.
  • Partner with experts and medical organizations to develop clinical practice guidelines and diagnostic algorithms.
  • Provide strategic insights across various areas to inform cross-functional initiatives.
  • Collaborate with field teams to identify knowledge gaps and offer strategic input for developing educational materials and messaging opportunities.
  • Lead the development of medical content and oversee advisory boards, medical education programs, and external vendor management to ensure timely delivery of key materials.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and partner closely with functional teams including field medical, commercial, area development managers, and patient advocacy groups.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the quality of educational and training content.
  • Manage budgets for assigned projects.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Advanced degree required: MD, PharmD, or Ph.D.; additional post-doctoral training or fellowships preferred.
  • 8-10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including Medical Affairs or related HQ-based roles.
  • Significant experience in the rare disease space is essential.
  • Proven experience with product launches is required.
  • Strong organizational, written, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A collaborative team player who is eager to contribute across departments.
  • Passion for patient outcomes and advancing scientific knowledge.

Location & Work Model: This position is based at our corporate office in Boston, Massachusetts.

Follows a hybrid work model, and candidates must be able to work from the Boston office based on department and business needs. This role may require up to 30% travel.
