Job Description:

This is an Asset Management position on the Fannie Mae Loan Team would be responsible for revolving of non-performing Fannie Mae multifamily loans and REO assets including conventional multifamily, affordable housing, student housing, and senior housing/assisted living.

Additionally, team members perform credit analysis on pools of commercial mortgage-back securities, weighted heavily toward agency debt.

Duties/ Responsibilities:
  • Excel modeling of the cash flows and valuations of properties across the multifamily space, with the opportunity to work on commercial/hospitality assets depending upon market conditions.
  • Asset valuation through market research, including comparable property and industry analysis, by using broker relationships, third-party tools, independent investigation, and an understanding of commercial real estate capital markets.
  • Completing on-site property inspections and management interviews across the United States.
  • Overseeing third party property managers, construction managers, and leasing agents.
  • Resolving defaulted mortgages and REO properties through the review of broker opinions of value, offering materials, appraisals, and other data sources, presenting conclusions to
  • CWCAM's credit committee and Fannie Mae.
  • Ensuring that CWCAM's portfolio of loans and REO follows regulatory requirements and internal policies & procedures.
  • Presenting opinions and conclusions to Fannie Mae through regular written and direct interactions.

Required Skills/ Abilities:
  • Experience in structured finance or multifamily operations.
  • 2-5 years of experience in Agency Lending.
  • 3-7 years of experience in commercial real estate finance or commercial banking with a clear understanding of the CRE valuation fundamentals.
  • Highly developed analytical skills including the ability to work in complex spreadsheets and return models.
  • Accurate, persuasive writing skills and presentation ability, including in unfamiliar markets.
  • The successful candidate will possess strong time management skills and will thrive in a fast- paced environment, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with competing deadlines.

The base salary range proposed for this role has been set forth to comply with local law, but salary is only one element of the total compensation for this role. The base salary range suggested above does not include compensation elements such as bonuses, overtime and deferred cash (each of which are applicable in certain roles), benefits, perquisites, and company contributions to employee 401(k) accounts. Such other pay components often result in total compensation materially exceeding base salary for a particular role. Total compensation as well as base salary for a role depend in part upon individual performance, years of service, experience, geographic considerations, the performance and the needs of particular business units, company performance, and general market conditions.
