Job Description:

Position Overview:

The Systems Engineer is tasked with designing and implementing SCADA and Controls systems for clients accross multiple industries. This role requires expertise in control systems, communication protocols, networking, and power systems. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project delivery, resolve control-related issues, and maintain security and deployment standards. This position reports to the Systems Engineering Manager.

Systems Engineer III - SCADA:

At this level, the Systems Engineer focuses on advanced SCADA systems:
  • Design new SCADA features to enhance system usability and customer experience, under guidance from the Systems Engineering Manager.
  • Deeply understand SCADA technology and infrastructure, leveraging best practices for effective system deployment.
  • Advanced PLC programming skills, with knowledge of structured text, ladder logic, and function block diagrams.
  • Expertise in communication protocols like Modbus, OPC-UA/DA, DNP3, and proficiency in SCADA platforms such as Inductive Automation Ignition.
  • Strong understanding of electrical schematics and power systems, along with experience managing complex solar PV monitoring projects.
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers (Levels I and II).

Systems Engineer III - Controls:

At this level, the Systems Engineer focuses on process control:
  • Design advanced control features for system monitoring and management, collaborating closely with the Controls Architect.
  • Tailor controls to project-specific requirements, ensuring smooth system performance.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, including MODBUS, OPC-UA, and DNP3.
  • Skilled in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, and Structured Text for automation and control system development.
  • Perform detailed analysis and integration of power systems with control processes.
  • Mentor junior engineers (Levels I and II).
