Job Description:

MAXIMUS is a leading operator of government health and human services programs and has partnered with state, federal and local governments to provide critical, high quality health and human service programs to a diverse array of communities.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced DB2 DBA to join our team. Your role will involve overseeing database administration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and ensuring the availability, integrity, and security of our DB2 databases.

Must be based around the Annapolis Junction, MD area.

Specific Responsibilities:
• Administer and maintain IBM's DB2 database environments, including installation, configuration, and patch management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams and vendors as necessary.
• Implement and maintain database security measures, including user access controls, data encryption, and auditing mechanisms.
• Conduct database capacity planning and forecasting to accommodate future growth and changing business requirements.
• Develop and maintain database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability and integrity.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize SQL queries, database code, and stored procedures for improved performance.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in DB2 database administration and recommend their adoption as appropriate.
• Create and maintain documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

This position offers a flexible hybrid/telecommute schedule. The onsite and telecommute arrangement is determined by the site team and may change based on government or operational needs. Candidates should reside within a commutable distance and be able to report onsite as required by the government customer.

• Active Secret Clearance is required
• Due to contract requirements, candidates must be U.S. citizens without dual citizenship.
• Bachelor's degree: additional experience would be considered in lieu of degree
• This contract supports systems that require 24x7x365 uptime. Candidates must be willing and able to meet recall requirements, including participation in a rotational on-call schedule, if required
Telework: Candidates must reside within a commutable distance and be available to work onsite at the customer's discretion. This includes being on-site during the transition period.
• 7+ years of experience in database administration
• Proven experience as a DB2 DBA, with expertise in managing DB2 databases in enterprise environments
• Efficiency in DB2 utilities, including but not limited to: Load, Check, Copy, Runstats, Recover, Reorg, Quiesce, Report, Modify and Restore, BMC Reorg, CA Log Analyzer, etc.
• Team player, fast learner with ability to work proactively and independently to support mission critical operations supporting geographically diverse locations
• Desired: Certified as an IBM Certified Database Administrator
