ALEXIS is seeking an innovative and highly organized Product Development Manager to lead our Product Development efforts out of its corporate office in Miami.
The Product Development Manager will be driving the brand's creative vision into reality, overseeing the development process from concept to sample completion. Working closely with the design and production teams, this individual will ensure that all products meet the brand's aesthetic standards, cost, and timelines. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for fashion, trend awareness, and experience in guiding new collections through the development stages with seamless execution.
This position will report to the Product Development Director.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the end-to-end product development process, from initial concept and design brief to sample execution and approvals, ensuring alignment between design, production, and technical design teams for smooth execution.
Collaborate directly with the design team to translate creative ideas into viable products, providing insights on feasibility, materials, and sourcing.
Drive innovation by researching new materials, techniques, and trends.
Manage the sampling process, ensuring samples are developed in line with design intent, cost targets, and market needs.
Build and maintain relationships with fabric mills, suppliers, and vendors to source the best materials and trims, ensuring timely delivery for each development phase.
Oversee the product calendar, managing key deadlines and ensuring that each development milestone is met without delays.
Continuously evaluate and improve the development process to maximize efficiency, creativity, and speed-to-market.
Maintain detailed records of product development activities, including sample approvals, tracking, and revisions, ensuring clear communication across teams.
Provide leadership, guidance, and support to junior product development staff and act as a liaison between cross-functional teams.
Ensure all final products align with the brand's high standards of quality, design, and customer expectations.
Key Requirements:
5+ years of experience in product development within the fashion industry, with a focus on contemporary or luxury markets.
Strong knowledge of trend forecasting, fabric sourcing, and the creative development process.
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple collections and timelines simultaneously.
A strong network of suppliers and experience in managing relationships with fabric mills, trim suppliers, and other development partners.
Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for aesthetics, quality, and craftsmanship.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with design, merchandising, and marketing teams.
Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Product Development, or a related field is preferred.
