We are seeking an experienced CFO to professionalize and elevate the finance team and overall finance function. You will provide strategic financial leadership, drive value creation, and ensure that financial operations are best-in-class, scalable, and ready for significant growth. You will partner closely with senior management and the private equity stakeholders to guide the company through this exciting phase of growth and eventually toward a successful exit.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Team Leadership: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing finance team, developing best-in-class systems, processes, and reporting capabilities.
Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Drive financial forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning in alignment with growth objectives, ensuring data-driven decision-making across the business.
Operational Excellence: Implement robust financial systems and controls to optimize day-to-day financial operations and improve transparency, accuracy, and scalability.
Growth Management: Partner with the executive team to support acquisitive and organic growth strategies, integrating new businesses and ensuring smooth financial operations post-acquisition.
Private Equity Reporting: Act as the liaison with PE sponsors, providing timely and accurate financial reporting, key performance metrics, and updates on business performance.
Capital Structure & Financing: Manage capital structure, cash flow, and working capital to support ongoing operations and growth initiatives, ensuring the business is well-positioned financially for future stages.
M&A Integration: Play a key role in the acquisition process, from due diligence to integration of acquired entities, ensuring financial discipline throughout.
Exit Strategy Execution: Partner with ownership and advisors on exit preparation, including financial modeling, reporting, and presentations for potential buyers or investors.
Key Requirements
Private Equity Expertise: Proven experience in private equity-backed businesses, with a solid understanding of PE investors' expectations and needs.
Financial Services/Investment firm: industry experience within comparable business size is a must-have.
M&A Experience: Strong track record in leading mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, financial integration, and post-acquisition optimization.
Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and scale finance teams, with a focus on professionalizing processes and systems for growth and efficiency.
Financial Acumen: Deep expertise in financial planning, analysis, and reporting, with experience managing all aspects of finance (e.g., accounting, FP&A, treasury, tax).
Exit Experience: Experience guiding a business through successful PE exit transactions.
Tech-Savvy: Experience with financial software systems, ERP implementation, and data-driven decision-making tools.
Results-Oriented: Proven track record of delivering financial results (significant growth), improving margins, and driving profitability in a high-growth environment.
Education: CPA, MBA, or CFA preferred, with 5+ years of finance leadership experience, within a PE-backed company.
