Tiello has partnered with a highly regarded Heavy CivilContractor on their search for a Senior Project Manager to oversee their Heavy Civil Construction projects such as Railroad Bridges/Lock & Dam/Marine Construction/State DOT Bridges/Concrete Construction. (NOT earthwork)
Job Title: Senior Project Manager (5+ years)
Project Types: Railroad Bridges/Lock & Dam/Marine Construction/State DOT Bridges/Concrete Construction
PRIMARY DUTIES include but are not limited to:
Responsible for delivering projects on-time and within budget as leader of the project team.
Utilizes the PM processes and enforces utilization by direct reports.
Works with PM Process committee to customize processes or author additional processes as needed.
Responsible for project coordination and acts as lead Company liaison with Owner to ensure exceptional Client satisfaction.
Responsible for maintaining accurate and thorough financial reports on the project.
Ensures pay estimates, invoice and subcontractor are being submitted and executed timely.
Partners with Estimating to transition and review project from bid stage to construction.
Oversees coordination of work methods with Superintendent and Engineer on-site to ensure all operations are conducted in alignment with Company procedures and best-practices.
Prepare and oversee work plans developed to established company procedures and best practices
Makes adjustments and problem - solves work methods as needed to maintain project schedule.
Oversees all fixed material purchases and is primary person for major purchases, particularly items which drive critical path.
Reviews Prime contract to ensure project compliance with policies, regulations, laws and permits.
Responsible for subcontractor selection, negotiation, contract execution and coordination
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years of construction management experience w/ cost control responsibility
BS in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
Active P.E. (preferred)
Bridge construction experience
Class 1 Railroad experience (preferred)
Ability to thrive in a changing environment
Desire to learn
Excellent writing and communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Willingness to Travel, at times on short notice
