Applications Scientist Intern (Summer 2025)

As an Applications Scientist Intern, you will identify technical needs for our customers, collaborate to create solutions and communicate those solutions effectively. This role requires strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational and problem-solving abilities, and technical expertise. This position will work onsite out of Westerville, OH, for the Summer of 2025. Relocation assistance is NOT available for our internships. It is preferred that candidates are available full-time (40 hours per week).

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Applications Scientists and Product Managers on application development initiatives
• Research trends in materials research
• Develop experiments and protocols
• Characterize temperature, magnetic, and/or electronic platforms for emerging customer use cases
• Measure novel materials using existing research platforms and protocols
• Assist in troubleshooting applications and resolving customer service issues

Qualifications:

• Current enrollment in advanced undergraduate or graduate studies in materials science, electrical engineering, physics, physical chemistry, or relevant discipline
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• Basic coding skills to develop data acquisition and automation routines – ideally in Python, C++/C#, LabVIEW or equivalent
• Ability to preserve the confidentiality of information, strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to be both an independent worker and collaborator
