Manager in Training:
As a Manager in Training, you will support the Store Manager in optimizing store performance while adhering to company policies. Your primary focus will be on enhancing customer service, driving sales, and increasing profitability. You will leverage your experience and judgment to meet objectives, while ensuring an exceptional shopping experience for our customers. You will also play a crucial role in training and developing team members, preparing you for future leadership opportunities. Our client is seeking a dedicated and motivated Manager in Training (MIT) who is eager to learn the comprehensive operations of their store. This role is designed to equip the right candidate with the skills and knowledge necessary to advance into higher-level management positions within their organization.
Foster strong relationships with customers and team members to ensure satisfaction, addressing special requests and resolving complaints.
Manage inventory by overseeing ordering processes and maintaining optimal stock levels across departments.
Implement established auditing and verification processes to ensure inventory accuracy.
Work proactively to minimize shrinkage and maximize profitability.
Execute merchandising strategies for new products and seasonal transitions in line with company standards.
Participate in the hiring process, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
Support human resources activities, including payroll processing and employee documentation.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide input on personnel matters such as promotions or disciplinary actions.
Assist in scheduling team members to align with labor projections set by management.
Lead training initiatives to foster the development of team members.
Monitor cash handling procedures and ensure adherence to financial protocols.
Oversee proper receiving and backroom operations to maintain efficiency.
Ensure all departments are well-maintained with accurate signage and pricing.
Coordinate logistics for deliveries and assist in stock management.
Conduct daily walkthroughs to evaluate store conditions and set priorities.
Guide team members towards achieving store goals while maintaining a positive work environment.
Supervise maintenance and sanitation of equipment and facilities in accordance with safety standards.
Uphold corporate policies and promote compliance among team members.
Assist in various departments as needed.
Manager in Training Background Profile:
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of retail experience is preferred.
Familiarity with manual and powered equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
Proficient in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.
Strong mathematical skills.
Requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting (up to 100 pounds) throughout the day.
Must be able to read labels and see distances to monitor store activities effectively.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members and customers.
Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
Maintain a steady work pace while adhering to safety and operational guidelines.
Capacity to organize tasks and work cooperatively with others.
Ability to maintain composure and make sound decisions under pressure.
Work is conducted in a climate-controlled environment, with occasional exposure to extreme temperatures.
