Responsibilities
Work as an individual contributor on teams developing new products in our Fire Service, Respiratory Protection, Fall Protection, Head Protection, or Gas/Flame Detection groups
Hands-on experience with testing and lab equipment
Provide support and develop improvement ideas for existing products & processes
Drafting, designing, and prototyping products
Collaborating with international associates and external suppliers to complete project goals
Gaining an awareness of budgetary, manufacturing and sourcing limitations
Qualifications
Qualifications
Fundamental mechanical engineering knowledge
Demonstrated creativity and problem solving skills
Ability to use software tools to record, analyze, and document test data
Ability to multi-task and complete assignments in a timely manner
Hands-on technical aptitude
Excellent communication skills: written, verbal, and presentation
Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (outlook, excel, word, etc.)
Ability to communicate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
Education and experience required
Incumbent should be actively pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering at an ABET-accredited school and have completed at least one semester of Sophomore year.
Preferred
Proficient with CAD tools (SolidWorks or similar)
Experience with FEA tools (Ansys, LS-DYNA, or similar)
Testing experience (design, execution, and analysis)
Experience with statistical analysis tools (Minitab or similar)
Experience with rapid prototyping methods
Familiarity with various manufacturing methods
