Sr. Product Manager (Merchandising & Promotions)

Optomi, in partnership with an industry leading wholesale food distributor is seeking a Sr. Product Leader to expand their ecommerce presence. With a dedication to enhancing customer experiences through personalized merchandising and promotions strategies, we are seeking a dynamic Product Manager to lead our team and drive growth in this critical area.

As the Product Manager for Merchandising & Promotions, you will play a pivotal role in defining and executing the merchandising strategy and promotional activities across our ecommerce platform. This is a senior-level position reporting directly to the VP of Product Management, offering an opportunity to make substantial impacts on our business growth through data-driven decisions and personalized customer interactions.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute merchandising and promotional strategies aligned with overall business objectives, focusing on revenue growth, customer acquisition, and retention.
  • Utilize data-driven insights and analytics to optimize merchandising placements and promotional offers, ensuring relevance and effectiveness in driving customer engagement and sales.
  • Lead the entire product lifecycle from ideation and conceptualization through to launch and ongoing optimization. Define product requirements, prioritize features, and manage roadmap alignment with business goals.
  • Work closely with teams across marketing, sales, UX/UI, technology, and analytics to ensure alignment and successful execution of merchandising and promotional initiatives.
  • Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential threats. Use findings to refine strategies and stay ahead in the competitive landscape.
  • Establish KPIs and metrics to measure the success of merchandising and promotional campaigns. Continuously monitor performance and iterate strategies based on data insights and feedback.
  • Lead and mentor a team of merchandising specialists and analysts, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and high performance.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in product management roles, with at least 3 years specifically focused on merchandising and promotions in a B2C ecommerce environment. Experience in a mid to large-sized enterprise company with a reputable ecommerce platform is highly preferred.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful merchandising and promotional strategies that have driven measurable business results.
  • Strong analytical mindset with proficiency in using data analytics tools and techniques to derive insights and inform decision-making.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing direct reports. Ability to inspire and motivate teams towards achieving ambitious goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and strategies clearly and concisely to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
