Function of Position:

Work with the MCC Apprenticeship Manager on the administrative tasks associated with the apprenticeship program. Apprenticeship program growth has overwhelmed a single person with the record-keeping and reporting requirements. By shifting some of the administrative tasks from the Apprenticeship Manager to the grant-supported Part-time Apprenticeship Coordinator, the Apprenticeship Manager will be able to allocate more time for direct contact with apprentices, doing more career guidance, and direct career counseling.

*This is a temporary, grant funded position that may be renewed annually contingent upon availability of grant funding and performance reviews.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:

Primary Functions:

  • Enter SUNY required data into the four different portals for:
    • Apprentice intake
    • NYS Department of Labor verification
    • Student details
    • Invoicing
  • Assist students with completing required pre-intake forms for:
    • SUNY Information
    • Residency
    • Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) compliance

Secondary Functions:

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Apprenticeship Manager

Physical Demands of Position: Sedentary work requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects; work requires fingering, grasping, and repetitive keyboarding motions; vocal communications is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; no adverse environmental conditions; infrequently traveling between buildings on campus, to other campuses, locally or out-of-town to attend meetings and conferences.

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or equivalent/relevant experience
  • Competency with Microsoft Excel
  • Detail oriented
  • Interpersonal skills including capability of working with students and staff

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with or capacity to readily learn and utilize multiple computer data management systems (such as Banner, Degreeworks, etc.)
  • Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently


Additional Information:

Salary: hourly rate $26.20

Hours: approximately 18 hours per week
