Knowledge of: Basic plumbing concepts, EPA regulations, safety procedures and regulations; repair and maintenance of all types of plumbing fixtures and their apparatus; local, state and national plumbing codes and statutes.
Skill in: Working as a team member and interacting with other employees, students, faculty, and staff; repairing leaks in water, sewer, and gas lines; dealing with water, gas and sewage;
Ability to: Assess and identify needed repairs and troubleshoot plumbing issues. Work independently and as part of a team. Read and interpret technical manuals, safety manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Connect all types of plumbing pipe material, including soldering and/or propressing. Use a wide variety of specific trade equipment. Complete time sheets electronically, and order parts for work orders. Perform basic math. Operate a university vehicle. Identify and solve problems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous employment experience as a plumber (or equivalent) in government and/or higher education environment
Proficiency managing work orders using a portable electronic tablet/device
Use of AiM and SAP

Responsible for repairing, replacing, or maintaining assorted plumbing, sewer and related fixtures in good operating condition.
Job Duties:
Unclog water closets, urinals, sink and lavatories, sewer lines, storm and roof drains.
Repair, replace, varied plumbing fixtures and their apparatus on campus.
Construct, remove or rough-in fixtures in varied campus building properties.
Install or maintain various water, gas, air, and sewer, as needed, at various campus facilities.
Complete electronic work logs and requisition parts, materials, personnel.
Works various schedules and required to be on call.
Required to carry a cell phone.
Operate university vehicle.
Complies with state and university policies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
