Job Description

Job Title: Weld Lead Date: October 2024

Reports To: Production Supervisor

Summary

American Fan has an opportunity for a Weld Lead in our Fairfield, OH facility. In this role, you will play a crucial role to ensure supervision over activities in the weld shop. The primary duties require attention to detail, planning, supervising, reviewing and participating in cross functional projects within the team. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills and be able to develop binding relationships across all functional areas within the organization, as well as with customers and vendors.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities


  • Manages the overall production and delivery of weld products to meet internal and external customer specifications that meet engineering and quality standards.
  • Create and maintain capacity plan for the weld department.
  • Manage adherence to individual project schedules and provide timely progress updates.
  • Set targets and drive improvement in both efficiency of welding operations and utilization of resources.
  • Interface with project management, engineering, and purchasing for process improvement.
  • Ensure effective implementation of standard processes for management of indirect material supply relevant to the Weld Department.
  • Complete all other duties assigned to you by your manager.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements


  • High School diploma
  • 2 years of supervisor/management experience in a business, manufacturing, and/or weld environment
  • Experience of implementing continuous improvement techniques built on the principles of lean manufacturing, with demonstrable results derived from their application.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of manufacturing performance indicators such as productivity, utilization, and efficiency.
  • Ability to create and maintain strong working relationships with employees.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • This position includes access or potential access to export-controlled data. Therefore, you will need to qualify as a U.S. Person, which is defined as a U.S. Citizen, a U.S. Permanent Resident or a political asylee in compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Acceptable proof of this status includes a US Passport, Permanent Resident Card, US birth Certificate or Naturalization Certificate. Maintenance, including renewal, of licensing authorization is a condition of employment. Government authorization may be a suitable alternative after review on a case-by-case basis.
