The Vision



We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Orthopedic/Sports Medicine Medical Assistant to work onsite Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm. The primary location will be 231 Sutton Street in North Andover, MA. We do our best to keep all employees in their assigned practices, but employees can expect to also float to our Haverhill Orthopedic/Sports Medicine site at 288 Groveland Street for routine cross-coverage.


Our team treats the full spectrum of sports related injuries and orthopedic conditions, from common injuries to the most complex. We offer a range of services such as sports conditioning, physical therapy, injury prevention, and surgical/non-surgical treatments.



Role Overview



Dedicated to clinical support as true partners to our providers, our Medical Assistants are trained to work autonomously to the top of their education/certification while also functioning as part of the multidisciplinary care team. At our practice, we have 3 Medical Assistants supporting 3 Providers. Our clinical support staff members rotate to give them an opportunity to collaborate with various Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers, develop their skills, expose them to different styles, and expand their clinical knowledge. Visit volume per provider is typically around 25 patients per day, and majority of our patients are 18+ years old.


Responsibilities include:


  • Ensuring efficient patient flow through the office

  • Assisting during office visits (rooming, examinations, procedures, and treatments as directed)

  • Performing clinically appropriate tasks related to coordination of care (general patient guidance, test results, prescription refills, etc.)

  • Maintaining neat, clean, and safe patient care areas

  • Interacting with patients and their families in a professional, friendly manner consistent with their needs






Qualifications

Qualifications



  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant training program is strongly preferred.

  • Epic experience preferred.

  • Medical Assistant experience strongly preferred, particularly in a community-based ambulatory specialty practice setting

  • National Medical Assistant certification with one of the following organizations preferred:


    • American Assoc. of Medical Assistants (AAMA) - Credential: CMA

    • American Medical Technologists (AMT) - Credential: RMA

    • National Healthcare Association (NHA) - Credential: CCMA

    • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) - Credential: NCMA



(Please Note: National Medical Assistant Certification will be required within six months of hire)
