PURPOSE OF POSITION

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance on all equipment products while following standard work methods and practicing safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible. Duties include preventative maintenance and repairs to equipment as needed. This position is concerned a Safety Sensitive Position.


Task and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
  • Develop maintenance PM schedule and perform regular preventative maintenance.
  • Locate sources of problems by observing and listening to mechanical devices in operation.
  • Cover the plant operations as it relates to manufacturing and shipping.
  • Ensures all equipment is outfitted for safe operation.
  • Ensures all equipment is capable of manufacturing quality products efficiently.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Adhere to Nortrak’s Environmental, Safety and Quality Procedures, Practices and Policies.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or climbing.
  • Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly lift and move up to 20-25 pounds, occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Hearing abilities related to job assigned.


Job Requirements (e.g., education, experience, skills and desired competencies)

  • High School graduate or GED preferred.
  • Related degree from a technician college is a plus.
  • Minimum four years for proven industrial experience.
  • Ability to read work orders and blueprints preferred.
  • Certification in electrical, hydraulics, and/or metal fabrication preferred.
  • Proficient as an industrial electrician and one or more of the core crafts (mechanical, fabrication, hydraulics, mobile equipment repair, HVAC/Boiler Operator, etc.).
  • Knowledge of 480 volt 3-phase and industrial controls.
  • Experience in welding and pneumatic operations is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment safely and efficiently.
  • Must be able to work as a team member collaborating with colleagues.
  • Basic mathematical calculation experience in adding and subtracting whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Salary:

  • $ 25.77/hr to $35.07/hr (depends on experience)
