The Mechanical Product Designer II is responsible for performing basic mechanical design tasks for electrical product designs, under the direct supervision of an Engineer or Senior Designer as assigned by the Engineering Manager/Team Leader, or for providing in-depth technical design leadership in one specific area . Beyond the design activities, the individual will be expected to work with the product proto-type and/or the manufacturing team to validate the design of the product, including taking inputs from the various areas, evaluating the input and updating design to include such changes as deemed appropriate. Person should also have understanding of manufacturability, cost sensitivities and produce product designs in accordance.



MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS



Education: Associates Degree in Mechanical Design


Experience: Minimum 4 years related experience


Travel: 5-10%


Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday. Overtime may be required. Ability to work a flexible schedule is necessary.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Performs mechanical designs and calculations under the direct supervision of an Engineer or upper -level Designer.

  • Assists in the preparation of mechanical designs for power and low voltage electrical product designs.

  • Interacts with Engineering, Design, and support staff on a daily basis.

  • Presents technical information during design reviews, normally in the form of CAD model presentations and manipulations for viewing and discussion.

  • Provides information required to enable creating and processing Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) from start to the point of design release for production.

  • Checks CAD-produced drawings against design input for accuracy.

  • Consistently follows Faith Technologies established design standards.

  • Creates technical manuals for operation and maintenance of products.

  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
