Summary:

The Cheese Department Sanitation operator role is trained to perform pre-cleaning and CIP’ing of the department conveyors, extruders, dry mixers, brine discharge belting and Cooper cutter, including framework and surrounding area.

Schedule:

  • Leprino Foods is a 24/7 operating facility; the employee must be willing and able to workdays/ weekends. Our schedules run 12 hours on a 2-2-3 rotation that allows for every other weekend off.

  • After training is complete, new hires will be assigned a regular schedule on the next available shift.

Pay Rate:

  • $23.35 per hour

  • $1.00 per hour weekend differential for all hours worked between 12:01am Saturday morning through 11:59pm Sunday night. $0.75 shift differential for all evening hours worked between 6:01pm and 5:59 am any day of the week.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all shutdown cheese is handled in a sanitary manner and properly designated for further processing.

  • Responsible for pre-cleaning and CIP’ing of the department conveyors, extruders, dry mixers, brine discharge belting and Cooper cutter, including framework and surrounding area.

  • Ensure all shutdown cheese is handled in a sanitary manner and properly designated for further processing.

  • Fill chemical jugs before shutdown.

  • Pre-clean and CIP brine discharge belting and Cooper cutter, including framework and surrounding area.

  • Empty and connect CIP Dry Mixer #1.

  • Collect all line scraping and scrap at the brine discharge area and cheese from the bottom of the brine tank.

  • Foam, scrub, rinse and sanitize entire area/department conveyors.

  • Aid in shutdown procedures at the extruders and dry mixers.

  • Empty extruders / nozzles and make all necessary connections for CIP.

  • Operate extruders through the shutdown, start-up and operation processes.

  • Wash, clean and inspect all product containers.

  • Empty, brush, clean and sanitize all designated department drains.

  • CIP condensed trucks periodically.

  • Weigh animal feed and transport to animal feed tote in Warehouse.

  • Ensure a smooth start up by monitoring ribbon quality.

  • Final hose down of the floors. Clean panels, windows, and doors

  • Straighten up the supply room.

  • Clean red hallway and grey hallway.

  • Complete and sign the Master Sanitation Schedule.

  • Follow proper lockout procedures.

  • Any additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years old.

  • Ability to pass a physical abilities test to assess ability to bend, reach, lift, pull, and climb stairs/ladders as required for the position.

  • Able to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Action oriented and the capacity to drive for results.

  • Familiarity with SAP or other manufacturing software systems working with touch screens.

  • Ability to evaluate and identify mechanical conditions and adjust or corrective action, as necessary.

Preferred skills:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.

  • Background or aptitude towards sanitation functions.

  • Proficient computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office products.

  • Familiarity or ability to learn SAP, or similar integrated manufacturing system.

  • Prior food industry experience.

Physical Demands & Environment:

  • This position will be exposed to working in a wet/slippery environment with loud noise in varying degrees of temperature. Must be able to withstand high heat and humidity. Handles hazardous chemicals

  • Specific vision may be required for this position, including close vision, distance vision, color and depth perception, and the ability to read computer screens for extended time periods.

  • Ability to pass a physical abilities test to assess ability to bend, reach, lift, pull, and climb stairs/ladders.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs hourly, climb a ladder, and walk up/downstairs regularly.
