The Medical Education Division Manager coordinates all formal medical education endeavors across the department, including medical students, residents and fellows. (This oversight includes the medical student clerkship in obstetrics & gynecology, the top-ranked residency program and nine fellowship programs.) This role serves as a subject matter expert for education-related guidelines (namely Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)), policy compliance, budget management and projections, and reporting. This person erves as a lead in recruitment and selection activities for new residents and coordinates all of the annual educational, training, and networking events. There is also an expectation to navigate and improve curricular changes for each program, oversee learners, faculty and program development. This position is responsible for trainee and educator evaluation processes, developing and maintaining a graduate database for data tracking of each program, developing and overseeing policies and procedures, providing project management for all programs and advisees, and training and mentoring more junior coordinators.They will administer and manage the department's education programs, as well as the business and financial affairs of the division, supporting the clinical, teaching and research activities of the division members. This position will be responsible for a broad array of organizational and program planning duties, management of finances from a variety of sources, as well as personnel supervision and administration. Business functions include the organization of work assignments, oversight of purchasing and inventory control, facilities coordination/planning, information technology assessment, compliance and accreditation. The Division Manger is responsible for the department's Continuing Medical Education programs and communicates with national certifying, accrediting, and educational organizations throughout the year, including the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the Association of Residency Coordinators in Obstetrics & Gynecology. This position supervises two SHRA positions.
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
The selected candidate must have a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, being highly organized and proactive are essential to success in this position, as it requires managing multiple tasks simultaneously. This candidate must have interpersonal and communication skills necessary to maintain strong working relationships with both inside and outside the Medical Education Division.
Prefer a candidate who has experience working in a Medical Education Program, AHEC and CME. Prefer a candidate who has experience with E-Value, One-45, and the ACGME Milestone database. A candidate who is proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel is preferred.
This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
