What You'll be Doing

The Lighting Associate (Sales) is responsible for building an inspiring and confident shopping experience for Lightopia customers that will drive business growth. Lightopia operates online and in a retail lighting studios in Costa Mesa. As a Lightopia Lighting Associate, you will have the exciting opportunity to learn about architectural lighting design and decorative lighting design through work on various residential, commercial, and hospitality projects. Our retail stores showcase state-of-the-art fixtures and energy-efficient led lighting. As a multi-channel retailer, our team members must be flexible with work hours covering a 7-day operation. This part time position (up to 20 hours per week) will report to our Lighting Studio located in Costa Mesa, CA.

On a typical day as a Lighting Associate, you will:
• Welcome customers in person, phone, or chat
• Service existing and new clients with order assistance
• Build rapport and make genuine connection with customers
• Complete transaction accurately and efficiently while engaging customers
• Be courteous and responsive to requests and questions
• Answer questions quickly and accurately
• Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Have excellent follow up and follow through with customer orders
• Collaborate with other Lighting Specialists on projects
• Learn about decorative and architectural lighting

What You Bring to the Role
• Highly motivated individual with a passion for design and relationship building
• Fluent in computer operations, multi-tasking, interpersonal skills and phone rapport
• Exceptional reliability and follow through
• Being proactive with communication, as we work WITH remote teams
• Extremely organized

• Experienced customer service with both face to face and over the phone

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in business administration, merchandising, marketing or related field, or minimum 1-3 years relevant sales experience
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving skills
  • Customer Service Experience 2 years
  • Able to build collaborative relationships with internal and external partners
  • Sense of urgency, detail oriented, and able to provide clear and thorough communication.
  • Commitment to and passion for Sales
  • Experience with the following systems is preferred - Microsoft Office, Netsuite
  • Attention to Detail
  • Sales Experience
  • Willingness to learn and help
  • Must be able to work both weekdays, weekends and holidays (retail schedule)

Job Type: Part time - 16-24 hours per week

Store Hours: Monday - Friday 9AM - 5:30PM, Saturday 10AM - 5PM , Sunday 11AM - 4PM

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to climb, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, twist, reach, lift, grasp, push and pull on an infrequent basis.
  • Ability to stand and sit for the duration of a scheduled shift
  • Ability to visually verify information and locate and inspect merchandise

Hourly Rate: up to $25/hour + Commission
